Omar Abdullah’s speech about Kashmir and all the unnecessary constraints being placed on kashmir in the guise of the Amarnath yatra.

This is one of the best speeches I have seen in the Indian Parliament. For those who think that the parliament is full of dispassionate morons … You are right … just not always :D

Theo Jansen is an artist and kinetic sculptor from the Netherlands. He builds large works which resemble skeletons of animals which are able to walk using the wind on the beaches of the Netherlands. His animated works are a fusion of art and engineering.

Jansen is dedicated to creating artificial life through the use of genetic algorithms. These programs simulate evolution inside their code. More here and here.

Mostly because I had too many blogs that I was tracking and ended up not reading everyone of them, negating any and all advantages that using feed readers would have anyway.

One major benefit of doing this that I found was rediscovering TED.com, an amazing website that provides some really interesting stuff to listen, read and watch on the web as opposed to the degradation of the “celebs” that most other sites that provide entertainment provide.

If you haven’t been on TED.com ever before, I suggest that you do so as soon as you are done reading my site :)

Pixar is releasing a DVD with a lot of their short films on it. This collection includes shorts like Luxo Junior, which is the first computer animated short nominated for an Academy Award and Knick Knack – a story about a snowman in a snow globe who wants to join two knick knacks from a warmer climate.

Also included is the very cute Lifted – a story about an alien trainee who is trying to abduct a sleeping human. Unfortunately, he is new to the console AND is getting a job evaluation right then!! :)
