When I wrote the last post about the release of In Rainbows by Radiohead, I expected to maybe able to listen to it sometime in the next month or so. But thanks to my girlfriend (who gets mad respect for life!!) I am now going to get the discbox in December AND I got the download and listened to that too!!
ok, now that I have the gloating out of the way, here’s my review of In Rainbows! - Radiohead!

In Rainbows starts a little different from what I exected from this Radiohead album… although I don’t really know what I expected from the album if u know what I mean
Song Two: Bodysnatchers: the album does a 180 with this song - starts with a killer bass groove and Thom sounds like a wholly different animal here. Guitars are fuzzy as hell as the song says - “I don’t know what I’m talking about!”. This song is groovy and hard as hell!! I don’t know how else to describe it…
Four minutes and a little while later: Song Three - Nude or as we know it - “Big Ideas”: There is nothing that hasn’t been said about this song that I can say. Simply Brilliant! Really slow jam - feels like a lonely morning on the windowsill watching the rain fall … :sigh:
"Don't get any big ideas
They're not going to happen
You paint yourself white
And fill in the noise
But they'll be something missing
And now that you've found it- its gone"
Weird Fishes - Starts with a nice happy beat and some strumming radioheadesque all the while filling sound all around me as the lyrics kick in… As Yorke goes into the chorus, he has you thinking “I’d be crazy not to follow, follow where you lead” and I know it is true. This song takes you in so many directions as the tempo and the mood changes ultimately bringing you to a really crazy crescendo of thought and feeling… This is probably the best song on this album … yet.All I need: The song is really mellow with a catchy, looping percussion loop (yes that is what I wrote). There is a little rustling in the middle of the song that got to me a little but then the lyrics just pull you back to what the song is all about …
"You’re all I need
You’re all I need
I’m in the middle of your picture

Lying in the breeze"
Faust Arp: I am not too sure about this song yet … Its got a kind of insistent quality that makes me want to like it and listen to it again. Very orchestral arrangement
Reckoner: A very rock beat with a nice soft inside. It has Thom going off in this amazing falsetto that really stays with you. I was humming the tune for really long and I KNOW my falsetto sucks!! Excellent bass line!! wow!! the interlude like thingy is so full!! you can see I am writing this as I listen to it
!!
Love the ending - "Did I cater to all you All your needs."
After almost making me cry, Radiohead turns around and makes me feel a little silly with the easy funk and the almost, Almost! conversational song that is “House of Cards”. Really nice, mellow and a little sad. The only thing about this is that it makes you wait for that pivotal point where you know the wait was worth it and then doesn’t deliver…Really nice song still!
Jigsaw: Starts with some nice middle-ground hard beats that are really cool to listen to … a nice speak kind of singing pattern here. As someone mentioned, really psuedo-poppy rock song. Nice listen, not into it totally yet though. Yorke goes into the barely legible croon in the middle and has now given way to a nice bridge with some nice guitar work before coming back in as the music really feels like trees swishing in a light wind.
Videotape: I hate it when radiohead albums finish!! Videotape starts with a piano and then Thom enters with the lines “When I’m at the Pearly Gates, This will be on the videotape, the videotape.” A little clap drum thing happening. I think I will just let the lyrics speak now:
When i'm at the pearly gates
This'll be on my videotape
My videotapeWhen Mephistopheles is just beneath
And he's reaching up to grab meThis is one for the good days
And i have it all here
In red blue green
In red blue greenYou are my centre when i spin away
Out of control on videotape
(Love these lines)On videotape
On videotape
On videotapeThis is my way of saying goodbye
Because i can't do it face to face
I'm talking to you
Before...
No matter what happens now
I won't be afraid
Because i know today has been
The most perfect day i've ever seen

There Couldn’t be a better review for anyone who is searching!!!
Dang! You beat me to the review :). You are so right about “Reckoner”. It’s my favourite track on the album. Yorke is definitely on top form in that one.
