The reality of Depression

It takes a special kind of person to go to the depths of depression and understand the reality of it. Everybody has a tendency to fight the “sinking” feeling and try to get back to the normalcy of existence, but how many know the true path to understanding the phenomenon?

Contrary to popular belief, one does not need to be brave to hold off depression or to come away from it unscathed.

It takes a lot of honesty to traverse down that path – the path of loneliness and introspection and blame, guilt, remorse, anger and the feeling of helplessness. Only the honest can take the plunge.

If you believe you are honest enough, try this once – the times in your life when you are on the edge of depression, on the edge of reason and despair, take the plunge.
Don’t hold yourself back and fall into the abyss. Feel the torment of your own soul and mortality. Know what it feels like to come face to face with the very core of your humanity.

Maybe if you are honest enough with yourself, if the mask you wear is close enough to who you really are, you will come out of it renewed and ready for the things that you need to do ….

or maybe you won’t. See you on the other side….
