Who saves?

We set out to make a wall,
Didn’t mean to build a cage.
DIdn’t mean to cause the fall,
Just tried to turn a page.

That love could conquer all,
Is just a hope we have.
But when the demons call,
It’s not just hope we crave.

The night has now begun,
There is no light in sight.
O light, my love will you come?
Or leave me to my plight?
As darkness slowly falls,
And my life lies down and dies…
